A trial date of October 9th has been set for two City of Salem (WV) employees who have been accused of embezzlement.
David Mayle, former Salem city manager, is accused of cashing $50,000 in checks from the "City of Salem General Fund". Mayle is also accused of writing himself salary checks that he was not entitled to, for nearly $20,000.
In addition. former Salem City Clerk, Sherry Olenick, has been accused of padding her salary by adding overtime hours that she did not work.
Both Olenick and Mayle pleaded not guilty in September.
