“She is an outstanding representative for not only West Virginia teachers, but for all West Virginians,” Lee said.
The WVEA is the state’s largest teacher organization, whose members include classroom teachers and other professional staff, education support professionals, higher education faculty and classified staff, future teachers and retirees.
“I am honored to have West Virginia teachers supporting my candidacy for our state’s highest court. I believe a solid education is the key to a promising future of our state, ” Chafin said.
“When I traveled to all 55 counties during my term as West Virginia State Bar President, I gained great perspective on the diversity of our state and the needs of our legal system. I learned how important it is to have Supreme Court Justices who are willing to listen and able to provide the necessary leadership to address problems facing our State’s judiciary and the citizens it serves.”
In addition to serving on the Education Alliance and the Marshall University Board of Governors, Chafin is the past President of the West Virginia State Bar, and serves on the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Children’s Home Society.
