The Doddridge Commission has requested a 10-Day Extension in the EQT Lawsuit that was to commence this coming Friday September 28th.
The lawsuit involves EQT, the Doddridge County Commission, and a few Doddridge County landowners in reference to making a decision on a drilling permit in a known flood plain as requested by EQT. The original permit was erroneously approved by Doddridge County Commissioner Jerry Evans, then subsequently rescinded by the full Commission when it realized the mistake that was made in its approval.
The Doddridge County Commission, acting as the Floodplain Board, was supposed to decide action on the permit for a site on the property of Joye Huff, an established floodplain before the scheduled court appearance. Instead The Doddridge County circuit court was asked for a ten day extension so it can review studies provided by EQT and Huff.
