Global Frackdown Protests in Doddridge and Worldwide

Protests against the natural gas drilling process known as fracking took place all around the world today (Saturday) based on public concern that fracking "has already damaged communities and ruined lives. It pollutes water and makes people sick."

In Doddridge County, the effort was launched a few days earlier (Thursday Sept. 20th) as fracking opponents organized under the Doddridge County Watershed Association met on U.S. Route 50 near Morgans run to bring their local protest into public view.

GlobalFrackdown's website and strategic campaign was developed by Food & Water Watch, a Washington, D.C. nonprofit that was part of Ralph Nader's Public Citizen group.
