28th Annual Salem Apple Butter Festival October 4th through 7th

The Salem Apple Butter Festival provides live demonstrations of old fashion apple butter making. Apple butter is made outdoors in copper kettles suspended over wood fire and canned on the spot for visitors to purchase. Other attractions include live entertainment daily, fireworks, food, crafts, apple butter making and apple pie baking contests, parade, quilt show, 5k run, bicycle poker ride, celebrity auction, pet show-off, talent show, car show, and horseshoe pitching and cornhole tournaments. The festival is a drug and alcohol free event providing family fun for all ages. There is no admission charge and all entertainment is free, as well. Parking is on-street or lots. The festival is handicap accessible.
