The Doddridge County Commission, acting in their capacity as Floodplain Appeals Board has voted unanimously today (Friday 10/5) to deny a floodplain permit to EQT for landowner Joye Huff's property in New Milton (Doddridge County, West Virginia). The commission was supplied with extensive floodplain studies by both EQT and landowner Huff.
In denying this permit, EQT no longer has consent to drill on that property Despite their $300,000 in site preparation work. And evidentiary hearing could be held next week but is is not known at this time who would attend.
EQT does have the option of re-applying for another permit on a different section of the property.
