No Freedom of the Press at the Republican Executive Committee Ox Roast

Mrs. Tammy Beamer was escorted from the Republican Executive Committee (REC) sponsored Ox Roast at the Doddridge County Park on Saturday October 20.  Mrs. Beamer, a long time and staunch Republican, was at the Park as a member of the press to video tape the event when Jack Adams, President of the Doddridge County REC, insisted she leave even though she had purchased a ticket.  Mrs. Beamer said Mr. Adams indicated to her that the dinner was a private event.  The Ox Roast was advertised in the Herald Record newspaper and online at www.doddridgenews.com that tickets were available from Committee members or at the door.

Mrs. Beamer reported that during the exchange between Mr. Adams and herself, Adams informed her that since she was a member of the CSPAC (Common Sense Political Action Committee) she was not welcome even though the Democratic Candidate for County Commission, Tim Bowen was in obvious attendance at this Republican affair conversing with the members of the REC and was announced to the group by Jack Adams as a candidate.  Although Tammy Beamer told Mr. Adams that she is not a member of the CSPAC, he continued to insist that she leave, threatened to throw out her camera, and called the State Police to remove her.
Upon arrival of the State Police, Mrs. Beamer was informed that she was welcome to stay, but that she was not allowed to video the event.  Mrs. Beamer then chose to leave, requesting a police escort because of the nature of Mr. Adams behavior toward her.  Subsequently she filed a complaint against Mr. Adams with the State Police.
